Remember that the philosophy of today is the common sense of tomorrow. Notably silent, as if they have been abstracted to that place over there, off to the side. And hardly anywhere else is thought found. Where are the philologists? Nobody has anything to say anymore except in a journal. No pamphleteers, no school spirit?

Yes, of course. We cannot be in this situation: The beatings will continue until the morale improves. Our world appears to have a strong measure of irrationality in many places where it needs the opposite: A sum of ideas. National contests on uplifting all the people.  It’s all so helpless in my soul. Racism is the first to go, but these others are works in progress: Sexism, Ageism, and other methods of unfair discriminations.
